How to get more customers in 2022?

Introducing the Digital Lid Technique.

Why the Old Ways do not work anymore?

In the old days it was enough to invest some money into your advertising campaigns in order to increase the amount of your clients. You could print a note in the local newspaper or run an ad on the radio. With a bigger budget you could even start a TV ad campaign.

And it used to work perfectly fine at that time. Many of the big businesses who are doing well today used a lot of those types of promotion back in the days. But in order to keep going most of them switched their attention to the online presence and digital marketing.

Those who didn`t are slowly drowning and asking questions why everything is not as good as it used to be. Those that did – are on top of the game – just like that squirrel on the gif  🙂

The reality is that we live in the century of fast-developing technology, social media and advertising. The old ways do not work anymore and if you are not digital yet than any new company coming to your niche can “eat you like a candy”. And it relates to any company in any area. Even if you are selling coffee or pies and you are not on the Google maps – your days are over. Even if you are an award winner with the best product in the world, none of the new customers will turn up. They will go to one whom they can find on the web simply because 80% of people use google maps to find a local store.

8 years of slow and low-quality marketing or..

1 year of hard work online to achieve better and faster results

which will you choose for your business?

But getting on the maps and paying for online ads is not enough. Competition becomes tighter and tighter every day. New companies penetrate the market and with the help of the latest knowledge in digital marketing they can simply get a big part of your client base. Like recently we have been approached by a client who had been on the market for 8 years and it was losing the clients simply because his 1-year old competitor was performing better online.

The era of “word-of-mouth” has become an attribute of the past. Online reviews, tutorials, videos, 3D-tours, podcasts are now the main things which drive the decision of the customer. And if you are serious about your business and you do not plan to close it in the next year or two, then you must rush now and get as much as you can out of the modern digital marketing.

What should you do?

We have put together the latest things you need to focus on in order to get a good online presence and get the most of it. Those instruments won`t work if you use them by themselves. The only way to go is to start using them in complex and continuously improve. Otherwise your chances of survival in the modern world are melting like an ice on the hot pan.

We call this approach a DIGITAL LID.

This lid will help you to catch your customers like a fly and keep them forever. If one of the parts is not working – your lid is broken and the clients will leave.

So what it is all about?

There is no secret and there is no magic. If you think there is a secret magic or secret ingredient – you are wrong. There are just the latest techniques, digital marketing trends and a lot of hard work. Without hard work nothing is possible.

Ok let’s have a look what do you need to concentrate on in order to catch the customers under the lid:

1. Rocking Website

(it needs to draw “Wow!” from customers` lips when they come there)
First of all, you need to make sure your business has a website. If you don`t have one – you do not exist for 90% of potential customers. If you live in a village where are only 10 houses and you are the only person selling bread, then you probably do not need a website. If this is not your case, then you need to get one as soon as possible. Website is a business card and a face of your business online. If it doesn`t look good, forget about the success. People tend to judge by appearance, especially now in the world of the internet.

But there is always a BUT. It is not enough to have a simple website which takes half an hour to load and which is not responsive, hard to navigate and not user-friendly. To survive in the digital world, your website needs to be flash. And it needs to be flash in every meaning. The design must be eye-catching and memorable. It needs to load in LESS THAN 3 SECONDS. Also easy navigation and maximum quality user-experience required if you want to keep getting new clients.

With a high-quality website, you need to deliver the best quality content. It is very important what do you have on your website. A couple of nice pictures and simple text is not enough. All the content needs to be fresh and flash. It needs to match what the user was looking for and it needs to ADD VALUE.

50% of the population use mobile devices to access the internet, so make sure your website`s mobile usability is up to the latest standards.

2. SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

The next part of the technique is to optimize your website for the Search Engines. SEO is very important if you want to be found among thousands of your competitors.

SEO consists of 2 parts – onsite and offsite.

Onsite SEO is a bunch of special techniques to make your content optimized for the search. It includes SEO titles, meta-description, key phrase length and density, images alt attributes and other. If you want to get a good understanding of it and see the real life example, just head to our recent SEO 2019 article.

And the other part of SEO which is way more important is offsite SEO. Most of it are the links which you get from the web to your website. Those links can be obtained naturally, manually built links and self-created links. Here you can check the comprehensive guide for off-site SEO. But before you start the link-building activities, make sure you comply with search engine guidelines, otherwise you might put yourself into risk by using Black Hat SEO techniques.

3. SEM (Search Engine Marketing)

Organic search is one thing and it is perfect if you can achieve to start appearing on the first page of Google with your website. But never underestimate the paid advertising as well. All your competitors do that and you need to be in that game as well if you want to survive in the digital world.

Google AdWords allows you to appear in the first results of the search and pay only if customers click on the link. But make sure you choose the right area, the right audience and make all the settings right. Otherwise, you will be paying people who are not interested in your product at all.

Always remember to continuously track the effectiveness of your campaigns, adjust the keywords which do not generate any leads.

Try different sets of ads. Always do split testing. You will be surprised when the ads you thought are the best deliver zero result whereas the ads which seem to be bad suddenly skyrocket and bring you customers.

4. SMM (Social Media Marketing)

Social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snap chat became a part of most people lives. If you go to public transport or to the restaurant or anywhere else, you will see people staring at their phones. 90% of them are scrolling through social media. And guess what? They are being marketed every single second. Different type of ads and sale hooks are used to convert the user into a customer. And why should you miss out? Get into social media now and start creating content, build an audience, use the paid advertising. If you will not start doing it now, your competitor will and get a huge piece of your pie.

Use the latest trends and topics in order to keep the content fresh and make your potential customer engage with your brand. Build the awareness and when it comes to your product your company`s name must flash across the user`s mind.

5. Continuous Improvement

This is where most of the companies fail. They get at a certain point and then decide that they are happy at where they are, they get a steady stream of clients and they start thinking that this is going to last forever. But in the modern world, it is not possible. New companies appear on the market like mushrooms after the rain and all of them are hungry and they want to get their piece. They start using the techniques which are not used by the old companies and suddenly they become the leaders of the market.

Never stop analyzing what is happening with your brand and with your audience, what are the latest trends in digital marketing and advertising. Use the learnings to make adjustments in your strategy. Never stop – the only way if you want to be on top of the game with your business.
